Hazing

When you decide to join a fraternity, you will be hazed by the current members. Some hazing is simple, and some can get out of hand. Make sure you are comfortable with the hazing process and it is worth the trouble to join the fraternity.

Stereotype.

Every fraternity will have some kind of stereotype. Maybe it's a party house or a nerd house. Make sure you join a fraternity with a stereotype that best represents you as a person or one that you are comfortable being associated with.

Opportunities

The whole point in joining a fraternity is to better yourself and have a better college experience. Make sure you are aware of the opportunities each fraternity offers, and you join the one that offers the best or most that fit your interests or needs.

Brandon Steven was happy to be a part of a fraternity. If you want to join one in college, make sure you take your time, consider all your options and choose the fraternity that is best for you. Being in a fraternity can be a fun and rewarding experience, as long as you choose the right one.

Brandon Steven - Coaching Youth Soccer

Brandon Steven
Brandon Steven has six children ranging from age one to 14. He loves to spend time with them and has coached their sports teams for many years. He also supports their other extracurricular activities. If you plan to coach youth soccer, consider these tips.

Make It Fun
The most important thing you can do for youth athletes is to make the sports fun. This will make them more likely to pay attention and learn and to stick with the sport. Nobody wants to play a sport that isn’t fun. Find a way to coach in a creative way and do little games and challenges to make practices more fun as well.

Teach The Basics
All new athletes should learn the basics of a sport before they learn anything else. Once they have mastered the basics, they can learn harder and more difficult skills and tricks and improve more and more each season. The younger an athlete is when he learns the basics, the better he will become as he grows older and continues to play.

Give Praise
When young children are learning to play soccer or any sport, they are often self-conscious and wonder if they are doing it right. Make sure you aren’t only offering criticism during your time as a coach, but also lots of praise when an athlete gets it right or does something well.

Brandon Steven finds that coaching youth sports is fun and rewarding. He encourages his children to stay active and hopes that by coaching them he can help motivate them to try new things and succeed.
